Tim Hudson had one of his best games of the year, besting Cliff Lee in the finale of their three-game series with Phillies by allowing just two hits and pitching into the eighth inning. He earned his 16th win of the season in the process, helping the Braves earn a 2-1 victory. Atlanta struck first against Lee in the second inning when David Ross hammered a one-out home run to center. Two singles and an error in the third inning loaded the bases for the Braves in the third for Dan Uggla, and he hit a deep sacrifice fly for a 2-0 lead.
