He was heavily linked with a move away from Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day across Europe, but Jairo Riedewald was back in an Eagles shirt this afternoon (Monday).

The 23-year-old former Ajax man was reportedly close to signing for Bundesliga side Paderborn on loan last week, before the transfer ultimately collapsed.

Despite this, Paderborn's head of sport Martin Przondziono has refused to rule out returning with a bid to sign the Palace man in January, speaking to Kicker about the club's interest in the Dutchman.

"Jairo is and remains an interesting player," Przondziono has been quoted as saying .

"We are still well-positioned in terms of personnel and trust our squad to play a good role in the Bundesliga."
