The Red Sox seem determined to remain irrelevant in the AL East race this season, and the Yankees helped them stay that way last night. Behind another masterful performance from Hiroki Kuroda and a pair of home runs from Ichiro Suzuki, the Yankees discarded Boston, 4-1. Kuroda was coming off a two-hit shutout of the Rangers and was nearly as good against a team that looked like it couldn't get out of The Bronx fast enough last night. The right-hander, having held Texas hitless until the seventh in his previous outing, retired the first eight Red Sox batters he saw before Nick Punto singled in the third.
