The way the offense was controlling the puck, the defense was clogging the shooting lanes and Corey Crawford was standing tall in goal, it appeared the Blackhawks were on their way to recording their first shutout of the season. Not only did that not come to fruition, neither did a victory as the bottom fell out midway through the third period and the Hawks fell 3-1 to the Stars on Thursday night at the United Center. Clinging to a one-goal lead after a solid two-and-a-half periods, Crawford and the Hawks allowed goals by Steve Ott, Michael Ryder and Loui Eriksson to see their four-game winning streak snapped and remain the only team in the league without a shutout.
