Wide receiver Andrew Hawkins claimed when first placed on the eight-week minimum Injured Reserve-Recall list that he’d be ready when first eligible to return against Miami. He was right. Hawkins was activated off the list Thursday morning and will be eligible to play Thursday night against the Dolphins. He takes the roster spot of Taylor Mays, who was placed on IR Wednesday. He injured his ankle in training camp practice and the team gave him extra time to heal. He’s been working out on the field before games and practicing with the team for two weeks. With all the weapons that have emerged, it’s easy to forget that Hawkins was the team’s third-leading receiver last year. He caught 51 passes for 533 yards and four touchdowns.
