Harry Maguire has insisted that his status as Manchester United captain means he is always likely to make 'big news', but he is not paying attention to any criticism he receives.

Despite falling out of favour at club level under Erik ten Hag, Maguire was called up to Gareth Southgate's England squad for the September internationals.

He started the Three Lions' 1-0 loss at Italy on Friday, which confirmed England's relegation from their Nations League group.

Speaking to talkSPORT post-match, Maguire revealed he feels match-fit despite a lack of game time at United, and that he is doing his best to block out his critics.
