Harry Kane was released by Arsenal because he was ‘chubby’ and ‘not very athletic’, according to the club’s former academy chief Liam Brady. Kane spent a year with Arsenal’s academy at the age of eight before he was let go. Tottenham also rejected Kane around the same time but he ended up returning to Spurs when he was 11. Arsene Wenger has already admitted his club’s decision to release Kane at such an early age left him ‘angry’, while the Arsenal manager praised the 24-year-old after he scored the winner in Tottenham’s 1-0 victory over the Gunners at Wembley on Saturday.
