Phillies manager Charlie Manuel and the team's front office have flipped their position on Roy Halladay as quickly as Doc quieted hitters Saturday night. Just a few days after saying the Phillies could shut Halladay down at some point, Manuel was adamant in the opposite direction before Monday's game. "I can answer that right now," Manuel said. "We're not thinking about doing that. He's not going to be shut down. Unless things vastly change, he's definitely not gonna get shut down. If he's gonna get his arm strong, I think pitching's fine."
