Hakeem Nicks said he expects to meet with the Giants and his representatives next week following the conclusion of the season. On the docket? "Business," said Nicks, adding later: "The season is over with, let's take the next step and see where it goes from there." In his most candid interview regarding his future, Nicks said that he has far more than contract parameters to talk about with the Giants. During this proposed meeting, the pending free agent and former first round draft pick sounds like he wants a window into the team's future. He said the Giants know he's interested in returning. "They know that. It's just a matter of how things are going to work out," Nicks said. "And we'll know that soon." But... "We ain't talking money right now, it's bigger than that in my eyes." When pressed, Nicks seemed to hint at his desire to know the team's plans going forward. With no formal announcement made on Tom Coughlin or offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride yet, there is plenty of uncertainty. "Stability of things, just like, weighing your options if I was going to have to do that," Nicks said. "It's not just about money. I'm not a guy that's just like 'Oh let me go and get this.'" So it's about... "Players, coaches, the organization," he said. "That's just something I want to make sure I look at. I don't want to get myself in a situation where there's a lot going on. This organization is great stability wise. You don't want too many changes going on here. I like how they're always looking out for a player's best interest and things like that."
