Memphis Grizzlies rookie point guard Ja Morant says he will not play in the 2019 NBA Summer League.

Morant underwent right knee surgery at the beginning of June. The Grizzlies selected Morant with the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Ja is now the new face of the franchise, as Memphis traded Mike Conley to the Utah Jazz.

Morant averaged 24.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 10.0 assists per game this season at Murray State while shooting 49.9 percent from the field, 36.3 percent beyond the arc, and 81.3 percent from the free-throw line.
