Right fielder Seth Smith was scratched from the Mariners' lineup Sunday against the Padres with a sore ankle, though manager Lloyd McClendon said the injury was minor. "He rolled his ankle a little bit yesterday," McClendon said. "It's a little swollen. It's just precautionary. We're not going to let him play today. Seventh game of the World Series, he'd be in there."
