Based on the way he performed this past season, it would appear Greivis Vasquez is a lock to reclaim his starting point guard position after averaging a career high 13.9 points and finishing third in the NBA with a 9.0 assists average. But if most of the mock drafts prove correct, the New Orleans Pelicans are likely to select Michigan point guard Trey Burke with their sixth overall pick in the first round if he’s still available. If Burke is good as billed, he likely would draw substantial minutes that could force a possible need to shift Vasquez to shooting guard to share minutes with Eric Gordon. The move would provide depth at that position, especially if Gordon gets injured.
