Greg Monroe blossomed into arguably the Pistons' most consistent player as the season ended. However, it wasn't enough to earn him a top-five finish in Rookie of the Year voting. As expected, Los Angeles Clippers rookie Blake Griffin won the award unanimously, while Washington guard John Wall finished second (295 votes). Sacramento forward DeMarcus Cousins finished third (81), while New York guard Landry Fields finished fourth (62) and San Antonio guard Gary Neal finished fifth (19). Monroe finished sixth with 15 votes. Even though he started off the season slowly, he averaged 13.7 points and 10 rebounds on 58 percent shooting from the field. For the season, he averaged 9.4 points and 7.5 rebounds with 21 double-doubles. Monroe, who's in his hometown of New Orleans, was more focused on how he finished the season rather than where he finished in the voting.
