Gordon Beckham missed most of Tuesday’s game and is likely out at least through Wednesday with an injured left wrist. The White Sox second baseman exited the team’s series-opener against the Washington Nationals in the third inning with what is described as nerve irritation in his left wrist. Beckham, who is 6-for-19 (.316) with an RBI this season, said an X-ray showed no structural damage and no broken bone. He won’t have an MRI performed until inflammation in the area subsides. “I knew something was wrong,” Beckham said. “There is definitely some pain. It’s going to take a couple days. It hurts now just standing here.” Beckham injured himself when he fouled off a 2-1 fastball from Nationals starter Gio Gonzalez. He then corkscrewed when he swung and missed at the 2-2 offering.
