For Taj Gibson, the 2012-13 NBA season was on of highs and lows. While the Bulls rewarded him at the outset of the campaign with a long-term contract extension, the Brooklyn native struggled with inconsistency, partially stemming from recurring knee problems, as well as initial unfamiliarity with an almost entirely new group of fellow reserves, before experiencing a playoff run that saw his team defeat his hometown Nets in the first round, prior to bowing out against the Heat in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Heading into the offseason, Gibson’s focus is on returning to full health, as well as improving and expanding his game, something Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau will take an active role in doing, similar to last summer.
