The battle cry of the Giants’ new offense has been “uptempo.” Offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo wants his quarterbacks to get the ball out quickly. He wants his offense to run at warp speed. As with all versions of the West Coast offense, the Giants want to throw short, quick-hitting passes and move the chains. That has been the theme of every practice. Training camp has been dominated by a hurry-up approach and the Giants, who have installed roughly 50 percent of their offense, will likely stay with that philosophy in Sunday’s preseason opener against the Bills in the Hall of Fame game in Caton, Ohio.
