Finally, after his 24th carry and 97th yard, Andre Brown put his hands on his knees and took a moment to catch his breath. He waived toward the sideline for a substitution. Throughout the week, there was a running joke about using him too much after a 2½-month rehabilitation period on his broken leg. He has two sets of carbon fiber plates across the broken area on his fibula. Tom Coughlin said maybe 40 carries, and another 15 receptions. Turns out it wasn't a joke. At a cloudy, windswept MetLife Stadium, the Giants rode Brown to a 24-20 victory over the Oakland Raiders -- their third straight victory. Brown finished with 115 yards and a touchdown, after which he dropped to his knees and pointed toward the sky. After two broken legs and being cut more than a half-dozen times during his NFL career, it was just another surprise Brown had up his sleeve. The Giants also added a blocked punt by Damontre Moore, who swatted a Marquette King punt in the first quarter. Cooper Taylor, another rookie, scooped the ball into his arms and ran 21 yards for a touchdown.
