The San Francisco Giants have a new utility man. The Cincinnati Reds announced on Twitter Monday afternoon that Micah Johnson has been claimed off waivers by their National League rivals in the Bay Area. Johnson was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the ninth round of the 2012 MLB draft. He played rookie ball in 2012 with the Great Falls Voyagers before being promoted to the Class A Kannapolis Intimidators for the beginning of the 2013 season. After a strong start to his time with the Intimidators, he was moved up to Class A-Advanced ball and finally Class AA with the Birmingham Barons – for whom Michael Jordan played in the mid 1990s – by the end of the year.
