Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo “couldn’t care less” about winning the MVP or scoring title. After all, he doesn’t want to focus on such goals that distract him from the rea important thing.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Antetokounmpo was asked whether he tracks the scoring title race, as well as the MVP battle. He’s a candidate for both awards, though the other contenders seem to have overtaken him in the said categories. The Greek Freak, however, doesn’t really put a lot of thought about the said individual accolades as he highlighted that takes him away from his true goals.

“It holds you back. I really believe in this,” the Bucks star said on focusing too much on the said awards. “You don’t get to your full potential if you worry on those things. I’m obsessed with basketball, I really want to be the best that I can be. I’ve shown it times and times that I’m about that. I’m not about scoring champ, I couldn’t care less. I’m not about MVP, I couldn’t care less.

“I just want to be the best player that I can be, and wherever that takes me, I’m okay with that. If I keep worrying about winning the scoring champ … it takes me away from the goals I really want to achieve.”
