STEVEN GERRARD dreams of managing Liverpool and he plans to take the first steps towards fulfilling that ambition over the next 12 months. The 32-year-old England captain is already considering a future beyond his playing career and has spelled out his desire to step into the dugout at Anfield. He will look to gain his coaching qualifications in the near future. “The dream come true would be to manage Liverpool when the job becomes available” said Gerrard. “There are world-class managers there already but it would be the icing on the cake. “When you get to a certain age – my age – you need to start thinking seriously about a life after football. I just signed a one-year extension but I need to start planning for the future.
