A Georgetown University football player has been arrested and reportedly charged with first-degree murder. 

Dijon Williams, a senior wide receiver from Atlanta, was arrested in Georgia on Monday by United States Marshals. He was wanted by the Metropolitan Police Department in connection with a murder in the District, according to Washington television station FOX 5 - WTTG. 

In a statement provided to NBC Sports Washington, the University said it is aware of the allegations against Williams.
