Georgetown announced Tuesday that center Chris Sodom has been dismissed from the men’s basketball team over a violation of team rules. Sodom, a 7-foot-3 freshman originally from Nigeria, played only 27 minutes over six games, averaging 0.7 points and 1.3 rebounds. He played two minutes in Saturday’s overtime loss to Syracuse, pulling down one rebound midway through the first half. Georgetown did not give further details on the reason for Sodom’s dismissal.
