Dillon Gee saw Matt Harvey on Tuesday and said he “looked great.” Gee also is aware Harvey is recovering well from elbow surgery, but while the Mets’ young ace hasn’t ruled out coming back at the end of this season, it’s not something Gee is counting on. “I hope Harvey comes back when he’s ready to come back and he’s not just doing it to do it,” Gee said. “I want him to be smart about it because he’s such an amazing pitcher. I’d hate for him to come back too early.” Gee, along with Zack Wheeler, Jon Niese and Bartolo Colon will be counted on to help make up for the loss of Harvey, but even Gee knows that’s not possible.
