Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Gunners are understood to have agreed a fee of £25 million with the French club for Gabriel's services, and beaten off competition from Everton, Napoli and Manchester United.
Head coach Mikel Arteta is desperate to add quality to his back four, and Gabriel fits the bill after his impressive performances to help Lille qualify for the Champions League.
With that in mind, here is a round-up of everything we know so far concerning the defender's future and what stage Arsenal are at in their quest to sign him.
Who is he?
Magalhaes is a 22-year-old centre-back who currently plays for Ligue 1 side Lille. He has spent time on loan at both Ligue 2 team Troyes and Dinamo Zagreb II.
But has broken into the first-team fold at the French side over the last two seasons.
The Brazilian is yet to earn an international cap, but was due to make his debut for the Olympic team before the coronavirus put a stop to fixtures.
