In all likelihood, Franklin Morales will be placed on the disabled list today. Morales left Saturday night's game in Detroit with discomfort near his left shoulder, and the results of tests administered Monday were consistent with a recurrence of the left pectoral strain that hampered Morales in late April and May. The Red Sox are expected to meet with Morales today, at which time he likely will be moved to the DL for the second time. Meanwhile, Shane Victorino felt better after receiving treatment Monday on his lower back. He left Sunday's game against the Tigers in the eighth inning when his back tightened, likely the result of slamming into the right field wall while making a catch in foul territory. But the Red Sox won't know until later today whether Victorino will be ready to play tonight in the opener of a two-game interleague series against the Rockies at Fenway Park.
