Coach Frank Vogel intends to give Jonathon Simmons a lengthy stay in the Orlando Magic’s starting lineup. Vogel inserted Simmons into the starting five at shooting guard in place of Terrence Ross for Monday night’s loss to the Indiana Pacers. Vogel said he’s evaluating the lineups “game to game.” “But,” he added, “I would anticipate ‘Simms’ being in the starting lineup indefinitely, until I decide otherwise.” Simmons scored a team-high 21 points in the 121-109 loss, while Ross scored seven points on 3-of-11 shooting. The Pacers made 53.2 percent of their shots. “We didn’t guard well enough,” Vogel said. “I thought both units benefitted from a little bit of a fresh feeling. I thought they played better as a result.” Simmons was asked how the lineup change went.
