Santa Margarita defensive lineman Hero Kanu just announced he'll play his college ball at Ohio State.
Kanu had a final four of Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Oklahoma and USC made a late run as well but the Buckeyes were always the team to beat here. They made a huge impression over the summer when Kanu tool several visits all over the country and essentially led from that point on.
"I love the coaching staff and I love how well they develop defensive linemen," Kanu said. "That was always huge for me in my decision. I'm still really new to football and have only played for a couple of years so I wanted to pick a school that I know will help me get better and maximize my potential."
In terms of maximizing his potential, Kanu always raved about Buckeye DL coach Larry Johnson.
"I had a chance to work with Larry Johnson at the summer camp and that was awesome," Kanu said. "I learned so much from him and he has a reputation as the best DL coach in the country.
