Former college football coach Mark Richt suffered a heart attack on Monday and is in recovery, according to a post he made on social media.
The 59-year-old analyst for ACC Network acknowledged his health scare on Twitter.
"I am assuming word travels fast," Richt said Monday in a tweet. "So I wanted to be able to inform everyone that I did have a heart attack this morning. I am doing fine. As I went through the experience I had peace knowing I was going to heaven but I was going to miss my wife. I plan to be at work this week."
Richt retired from coaching in December 2018, leaving the University of Miami after three seasons following his exit from a successful tenure at Georgia.
