Jalani Williams' promising start with the Missouri football team has its first setback. The freshman safety from Parkway North injured his foot in practice last week and underwent surgery that will shut him down for the rest of the spring, MU confirmed Tuesday.

Williams, who graduated from high school early and enrolled at MU in January, is expected to recover in time for summer workouts in June. Williams has been playing MU's boundary safety position in practice, backing up junior and returning starter Tyree Gillespie.
