Evan Mathis is an All-Pro left guard for the Eagles but Jason Kelce thinks Mathis should press pause on playing doctor. Mathis, who will return to practice Wednesday for the first time since his Week 1 knee injury, had said Monday that center Jason Kelce, who’s been out since Week 3 after undergoing groin surgery, would resume practice Tuesday. Mathis also predicted Kelce making his return to game action next Sunday against the Texans. Kelce has never pinned a timetable on his return. He did practice Tuesday, as Mathis said, but he only did some light position drills. Afterward, Kelce dismissed Mathis’ forecast for his comeback. “I really wish he wouldn't have said that,” Kelce said with a laugh. “Now it pushes me a little bit harder. But this is just the first day that I've even been out to practice. Obviously, I was not a full participant. I was just kind of out there moving around.” The Eagles held a light practice Tuesday, their first practice after the bye week as they prepare for a showdown in the desert against the NFC West-leading Cardinals (5-1). The team isn’t required to release an injury report until Wednesday.
