Florida State tight end Tre' McKitty went viral Saturday when he lined up backwards for a play in the Florida State victory over Louisiana Monroe. While the game was full of mishaps in a near upset of the Seminoles, that play was not one of them, McKitty said.

The intention was a quick lineup at the LOS to keep high tempo, he said.

“Yeah, I've got a million messages about that," McKitty said via Noles247. "The offensive line had messed up, then we had to hurry up and get set so the defense couldn't see our formation before the play. There was nothing wrong with me. I didn't line up the wrong way on accident."

He went on to add that results validated the play: "Yeah. I'm not really worried about what everybody is saying. I know what I was doing, I know what we were trying to do."
