Florida State men's basketball head coach Leonard Hamilton has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him with the program through the 2024-25 campaign, the school announced Monday.
The new deal will guarantee Hamilton $11.25 million over its duration and is retroactive to April 2020, when his previous contract expired, a source told Curt Weiler of the Tallahassee Democrat. Hamilton had reportedly been coaching on a month-to-month agreement since.
Hamilton, 72, has been the Seminoles head coach since March 2002. Across 19 seasons at Florida State, the three-time ACC Coach of the Year boasts a 396-225 record and is far and away the program's all-time leader in wins. He led the program to an ACC Tournament victory in 2012 and has taken it to the NCAA Tournament on seven occasions, with an eighth likely to come this season.
