Florida coach Will Muschamp confirmed Wednesday afternoon that senior starting safety Cody Riggs has decided to transfer. It was first reported by The Sun earlier in the day. Riggs wants to go transfer to a school where he’ll have a chance to play the wide cornerback position, an opportunity he would not have at UF next season, sources told The Sun. “Cody Riggs and his parents came to me and he's going to finish up in May and transfer to another school to finish his last year of eligibility,” Muschamp said. “He wanted a fresh start. And I appreciate his contributions to Florida.” Riggs, who started every game for the Gators in 2013, had 51 tackles and 1.5 sacks as a junior. He is currently in school at UF and is on track to graduate in June. Riggs played cornerback for the Gators before being moved to safety a year ago.
