Sven Baertschi couldn't contain his excitement. While most players likely wouldn't point to Minnesota as the tour stop of choice on the NHL calendar, the Calgary Flames rookie couldn't wait to get to the Twin Cities. He was selected in the first round by the Flames at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in St. Paul, Minn. Less than a year later, he sniped his first big-league goal at the Xcel Energy Center. The home of the Wild has been good to Baertschi. "Ya, it has," Baertschi said through an ear-to-ear smile. "I'm excited about it. It's a nice city too. "I spent four days there for the draft, and then scoring my first goal "¦ good memories." And just maybe it's the kind of subtle confidence-booster the young Swiss winger can use to his advantage as he looks to crack the scoresheet for the first time this season.
