Texas has reeled in perhaps its biggest fish of the cycle.

Five-star Conroe Oak Ridge offensive lineman Tyler Johnson decided to shut down his recruitment and gave the Longhorns a verbal pledge on Friday.

For Johnson, it was an easy choice.

“I love the coaching overall,” Johnson said. “Everyone knows what they are doing. They have over 50 years of experience combined. I love the school. It has great academics. And I love the players — Tope Imade and Derek Kerstetter are great guys.”

Johnson committed to Texas over offers from several major programs, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Oregon, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and USC.
