Red Sox manager John Farrell said that right-hander Rick Porcello would "ideally" start Game 4 of the American League Division Series presented by Doosan against the Astros on Monday if Boston can stave off elimination in Sunday's Game 3 at Fenway Park (2:30 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT on FS1). The Game 4 starter is entirely dependent upon who is needed out of the bullpen in Game 3. "While all our [pitchers] are available [in Game 3], I'd like to stay away from [Chris] Sale and Porcello," said Farrell. Three days ago, Farrell said he'd prefer to avoid starting Sale on three days' rest in Game 4. Where did things stand on that front in the hours leading up to Game 3?
