Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been among the top ranked stars to claim the 2021-22 NBA MVP award for a while now. However, his recent slump in form has left questioning whether or not he deserves the prestigious award. Coincidentally, Curry’s sudden fall comes immediately after the 33-year-old broke the league record for most 3-pointers. Yet, he is sitting above the like of LeBron James and Ja Morant in the MVP race, which has stumped NBA fans.

In sharp contrast to the initial quarter of the campaign, Steph has shot at well under 50% over the past few weeks. His season average stands at a shade over 26 points, which is well below his tally from last season. On the other hand, both LeBron James and Ja Morant have been carrying their franchises. Averaging 28.8 and 24.7 points respectively, both of them aren’t too far behind in the MVP chat either. Apart from them, the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant and Nikola Jokic are leading the race.
