Former Ole Miss offensive lineman Austin Golson will transfer to Auburn and join the Tigers as a walk-on, Rebels coach Hugh Freeze announced Monday. "We wish him the very best," coach Hugh Freeze said in a statement released by the school, adding that Golson will follow "normal transfer rules." The 6-foot-5, 309-pound former four-star prospect requested the transfer to relocate closer to home (Pratville, Ala.) as both of his grandfathers are dealing with health issues. In order to compete for Auburn in 2014, the sophomore offensive tackle will need a hardship waiver from the NCAA. Otherwise, Golson will not be eligible for the Tigers until 2015. However, this transfer seems to be tied much closer the family situation, as Golson told the Clarion-Ledger last month that that "my family comes before football."
