Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti wants to rescue Diogo Dalot from his Manchester United nightmare.

Ancelotti is desperate to strengthen his defence this summer and has made the Portugal U21 star one of his main targets.

Dalot has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford and Ancelotti is confident he can lure him to Goodison Park in a £10m deal.

The Italian needs to sign two full backs in the transfer window after seeing Leighton Baines retire, while Seamus Coleman, 31, is approaching the twilight of his career.

The versatile Dalot can operate in both full back positions and Ancelotti believes United would be willing to let him leave if the price is right.
