Swansea had rejected Everton's record £40million offer for Gylfi Sigurdsson and are insisting on £50million for the playmaker. However a deal looks likely after Swansea allowed Gylfi Sigurdsson to pull out of their pre-season US tour because of Everton’s pursuit. Sigurdsson has told the Swans he did not feel mentally right to go on tour. In a statement, Swansea said: “Swansea City can confirm that Gylfi Sigurdsson will not travel with the squad to America for the pre-season tour. “Having played against Barnet last night, Gylfi did not feel in the right frame of mind to travel due to the uncertainty over his future.” It is believed Sigurdsson, who is in his second spell with Swansea, is keen to move to Everton because of the ambition they have shown this summer.
