Everton are ready to move for Icelandic striker Alfred Finnbogason – and sell Nikica Jelavic. Boss Roberto Martinez sent his top European spy to watch the prolific hitman, 24, play for Heerenveen yesterday before a £2million auction starts. Finnbogason has been tracked by several Premier League clubs, including West Ham. However Martinez has revved up his chase as he looks to switch strikers and give Romelu Lukaku new cover and competition. Croatian Jelavic needs to play in the second half of the season or his World Cup place could be at risk. Everton have stepped up their move for Dundee United’s 17-year-old centre-half John Souttar.
