Everton have struck a deal with Swansea for Gylfi Sigurdsson – but the midfielder is holding out for more than £120,000-a-week. The Toffees have moved quickly to try to tie up a deal for Swansea’s star man and double player of the year Sigurdsson, amid rival interest from the likes of Tottenham and Southampton. The two clubs are believed to have settled on a package similar to the £25m Everton shelled out for another 27 year-old, Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie last summer. Everton’s hopes now hinge on them agreeing terms with playmaker Sigurdsson, who is on £80,000 per week at the Liberty Stadium but wants a significant pay hike to move to Merseyside.
