Two Kings are among 18 players named to participate in the Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam on Feb. 18 as part of All-Star Weekend, the NBA announced Tuesday. Guard Tyreke Evans will play on the sophomore team and center DeMarcus Cousins on the rookie team. The teams are voted on by assistant coaches. Evans leads second-year players with 17.8 points per game. Cousins is second among rookies in scoring (13.5 points per game) and rebounding (7.7 per game). "They're living up to where they were drafted and then some," Kings coach Paul Westphal said. "And I think Omri (Casspi) was on the cusp of being on the team this year as well. Those three young players being so successful is really a good sign we're headed in the right direction." Casspi played on the rookie team last season. New lineup – Samuel Dalembert started in place of Jason Thompson (sprained right ankle) Tuesday. It was the Kings' 18th different starting lineup of the season. Westphal said Thompson is doubtful for Friday against San Antonio. Whether Westphal continues to start big men Dalembert and Cousins together remains to be seen.
