Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly planning to hold talks with RB Leipzig ace Nordi Mukiele over a move this summer.

The Reds chief is expected to target a new defender this summer, with Dejan Lovren’s future still unclear.

Liverpool youngster Neco Williams could also be granted a loan move to continue his development.

Mukiele has established himself as a regular feature in Leipzig’s youthful squad. He also has the ability to play at right-back or cover as a cntre-back.

And according to Le 10 Sport, via the Daily Express, Liverpool are hot on the trail of the 22-year-old and are planning to hold direct talks.

The newly-crowned Premier League champions are yet to firm up their interest. But the report adds that arrangements are being put in place.

Liverpool will, however, face competition for Mukiele’s signature, with Tottenham and PSG previously linked with the player.

PSG are chasing Mukiele as a replacement for Thomas Meunier, while Spurs are looking for an alternative to Serge Aurier.

If the Leipzig star did arrive on Merseyside then Williams is expected to head out on loan for the season.

Williams is regarded as one of the hottest prospects at Anfield. But the form of Trent Alexander-Arnold means it is tough for him to get any decent game time.
