New Atlanta United 2 signing Erik López has revealed certain details of his move to his new club in an interview with Fox Sports Argentina.

The 18-year-old Paraguayan officially became an Atlanta United 2 player on July 18, having signed with Atlanta United’s USL affiliate team due to first team roster restrictions. The club said Lopez will permanently join Atlanta United’s first team in January of 2021, though López revealed in the interview that he could feature for the first team once the MLS is Back tournament is concluded and the 2020 season resumes in home markets. According to Steven Goff of the Washington Post, that resumption could happen as soon as the Aug. 21-23 weekend.
