Lost amid the shuffle of meeting the Flyers three newest additions (there was a press conference with Vincent Lecavalier, Mark Streit and Ray Emery today) and the ongoing Prospect Development Camp, the Flyers quietly signed one of their restricted free agents to a new deal. Defenseman Erik Gustafsson was inked to a one-year contract worth $1 million. It is a one-way deal, meaning the Flyers now have eight defensemen on one-way contracts this season. They are also now approximately $2 million above the cap. The can exceed the cap by a maximum of $6.43 million up until the start of the season. Gustafsson, 24, earned himself a modest raise of $100,000 after he finished his season strongly for the Flyers. Gustafsson played 27 games for the Flyers, scoring three goals and adding five assists for eight points, but was especially solid for the Flyers after being recalled March 28. He averaged more than 20 minutes per game for the team.
