Manchester City centre-back Eric Garcia has given a positive update about his health after he sustained a serious looking head injury during his side's 3-0 victory over Arsenal on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old was knocked to the ground by goalkeeper Ederson late on in the game in a nasty-looking collision, and was stretchered off wearing a neck brace.
After being taken to hospital he was discharged on Thursday, and he posted a message on his social media during the evening assuring fans of his wellbeing.
Garcia said: "Great to start again with a win against Arsenal. Thanks for all the messages I've received. Now it's time to rest and recover and hopefully I'll be back soon."
It is not clear exactly when Garcia will be able to return to action, but it appears unlikely he will be ready in time to be involved in City's game against Burnley on Monday.
The game against Arsenal was Garcia's seventh Premier League appearance of the season, and he had performed well up until the incident with Ederson.
