The Canucks confirmed they’ll be without top defenceman Alex Edler for Friday’s game with the Phoenix Coyotes and possibly longer. Assistant coach Glen Gulutzan told reporters following practice on Thursday at Rogers Arena that Edler, who appeared to tweak his right knee during Tuesday’s game in Nashville, is “out indefinitely” and was to be further evaluated later in the day. Gulutzan also said Andrew Alberts will get back into the lineup for just his fourth game this season, replacing Edler on the blue line. The Canucks iced similar lines in practice to what they showed against Nashville. They were: Daniel Sedin-Henrik Sedin-Booth Higgins-Kesler-Santorelli Hansen-Richardson-Weise Tom Sestito, Jeremy Welsh, Zac Dalpe and Zack Kassian alternated on the fourth line.
