Newcastle have confirmed manager Eddie Howe has inked a new long-term contract to remain at St James' Park for the foreseeable future.

Howe was brought in following the Saudi PIF's takeover of the club and helped steer Newcastle away from the relegation zone, watching the team climb all the way up to 11th last year, with the signings of Sven Botman and Nick Pope designed to help the team reach new heights next season.

The boss' previous deal had two years left to run but he has now inked a bumper 'long-term' extension to commit himself to Newcastle.

"It's a great feeling to commit my future to this incredible club," Howe said. "I'm extremely proud to be the head coach of Newcastle United and have enjoyed every moment here.
