Ed Orgeron is confident that a national championship is not far around the corner for LSU. When asked by a caller to his radio show how far the Tigers could go with the “true grit” they showed in their rally from a 20-point deficit to beat No. 10 Auburn, Orgeron suggested the ultimate goal. “Our team showed true grit, and if we stick together, I do believe in our tenure we will win a championship,” Orgeron said. For that to happen, LSU needs to hit on its next two recruiting classes, but Orgeron feels the Tigers are on their way based on current commitments. “With our recruiting classes we are going to get and the linemen we’re going to get, I do believe a national championship is in our future,” Orgeron said. LSU celebrated the 10-year anniversary of its most recent national championship during halftime of the Auburn game.
